Layla was a story of Eric Clapton’s hopeless love for George Harrison’s wife, Patti Boyd. She was the inspiration behind classics like Layla, Bell Bottom Blues, Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad, and even inspiring Clapton to perform some of his best blues covers like Have You Ever Loved a Woman. Patti would even inspire later Clapton recordings like Wonderful Tonight.
